Dog Art - Dean Russo

I've had 5 dogs during my adult life and I've loved them!  This post is about an artist that LOVES dogs too and love to paint them.  I thought these paintings really showed off the dogs!

Art and animals; these two passions defines Dean Russo. A Brooklyn, New York based artist who uses vibrant Pop Art colors and bold abstract patterns to give a voice to his favorite subject - animals. Dean grew up in a home filled with art supplies, and from an early age began drawing cartoon characters, which became a great influence in his later work. After studying graphic design and fine arts at the School of Visual Arts and Pratt Institute, Dean began to paint primarily celebrity portraits, but his two Cocker Spaniels became his greatest inspiration.  “They would sit at my feet every night, so one day, I decided to paint them.”

Dean starts his paintings with the eyes, because, as every animal-lover knows, the eyes are the most expressive. Dean’s main subjects are dogs, with pit bulls representing the majority of his work. “Pit bulls are a misunderstood breed, and I’m just happy to be able to get the message about animal rescue out there.” Dean Russo Art Studio has a sincere dedication to animal rescue, and has participated in charity auctions, donations and fund-raising events to raise awareness and help out in the animal welfare community. Dean hopes to convey the care and devotion of animal-lovers of every kind, from dogs and cats to horses and beyond. He has a wildlife series in the works, as a way to support the countless animals on the verge of extinction. Through inspiring messages and bright prints, he hopes to depict the connection between us and animals.

Let the Shopping Begin - Ty Wilson Art

I am always on the look-out for GREAT artwork...that's not too expensive.  [My tastes change!]  And I was reminded this morning of an artist whose work I hung in an apartment in the late 80's, which I did in the contemporary style I love so much.  Yes, I still LOVE contemporary and I still love TY WILSON'S artwork [read ABOUT TY Below]!  I remember walking into a Saxon's Paint store in Milwaukee in the late 80's and finding his beautiful artwork!  So, upon finding his website this morning, I decided to post about him and his artwork.  Here are a couple of pieces I used to have...

Art - Kinkade

I have always loved Thomas Kinkade's Art - especially his winter snow scenes and his cottages...and I love the deer.  This painting, always reminds me of the Bible Verse found in Psalms, Verse 42.  It begins with the words, “As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God“.  In other words, we need to be panting after God.  To me panting means to be breathing rapidly much as one would be doing after running.  So...
if we're running from the devil, the roaring lion, TO God, where only HE is able to satisfy us.

About The Painter of Light
In the very beginning of his career, Thomas Kinkade put his entire life savings into the printing of his first lithograph. Though at the time he was already an acclaimed illustrator, Thom found that he was inspired not by fame and fortune, but by the simple act of painting straight from the heart, putting on canvas the natural wonders and images that moved him most.

   Thomas Kinkade Photo

Thom’s dearest wish had always been that his artwork would be a messenger of hope and inspiration to others – a message to slow down, appreciate the little details in life, and to look for beauty in the world around us. You can find more of Thomas Kinkade's Biography and a wonderful Video Biography...along with much more Art Here.

The other day I posted about a Tiny House and down-sizing...I could really see myself doing it right here, in this lovely Cottage...surrounded by trees, hills and God's creatures.

I added this Cottage and the remaining Cottage Paintings...no there isn't any snow...for those of you who can't wait for spring!!  I've read a number of posts on blogs as I've visited many of my friends the past few days.  Enjoy these AND the hope of green grass, pretty flowers and warmer temperatures!

I hope you've enjoyed the art by Thomas Kinkade today.
