April Snow Brings May Flowers?

Yesterday afternoon, we began seeing snowflakes...really HUGE ones.  The Pups wanted to go outside alot more often, so that they could try to scoop up the big flakes of snow as they jumped around the courtyard.  They ran and ran and jumped and jumped.  The weatherman forecasted snow already back on Tuesday when an ALERT day was scheduled for us for today and tonight.  As night began to fall, snow began falling in earnest and when the Pups

went out before going to bed, there was about an inch of snow.

But, by morning...we had the biggest snowfall of 2015-2016 winter...6 1/2" measured right on my courtyard wall.  Can you believe it?  How many of you received snow too?

This photo of the trees is in the backyard of another neighbor.  It's so calm outside...and when I saw the snow still on the trees, I just had to snap it!

Now...I really do hope the snow is done for this season.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Whoops...

5:30am this morning...I let my Pups outside to do their thing...No Fog.  At 7:00am, they wanted to go outside again.  FOG!  I couldn't see beyond my Courtyard Wall!  Now it's 8:00am and this is what it looks like outside my office window.

No matter the kind of weather, I always take pictures from my office window!  Here are some additional pictures from my...

window.

Sorry about the reflection of my camera in the middle of this photo [the circle].

This is my view on most days from my Office Window [just for comparison]...

Just a couple more...

I know...you didn't expect to see SNOW, did you.  It will be here sooner than we think!!  This year has just flown by.  I'm really glad I got a Snow Blower to help remove snow.  Much easier than shoveling!!

Speaking about Snow Blowers and Shoveling...now's the time to get those things you need for winter...the stores are stocked up now.  I know, because I bought my Snow Blower and Shovel at Lowe's on a day when the temperature outside was 87°!!

I sure got some "looks" as I checked out and packed them in my car.  But, I like to plan ahead.

Look What I Woke To This Morning...

Not what I wanted to see again this Spring!  We won't get much, it's supposed to change to rain...but it will be colder for several days, only making it to the low 30's.  This winter has seemed so long...between all that's happened here at Jan's Place with Doctors' appointments and all of the snow and shoveling.  It just seems like we've had snow most every day.  I know we haven't, but it feels that way.  I can't wait for warm weather and clear blue sky...
and the sun.  I also can't wait for health to return to my hubby.  Come on Spring............Get Here!

Snowstorm 2015 and More

This past Saturday and Sunday was our big 2015 SNOWSTORM!  We broke a record with 16.5"!  We have drifts that look like Waves, and some that stand nearly 4 feet high!  No power loss, so we stayed warm.  Naturally with that kind of snowfall, Tom's Oncologist's office called Sunday night at 9pm to let us know that the office would be closed on Monday and that we should call in for another appointment.  This was the appointment when we were...
to find out the results of all the tests hubby has had in the past 2 weeks....something like 4 Cat Scans, a Bone scan and 3 MRI's...all of different areas and with and without contrast.

Now, our appointment is next Tuesday, February 10th.

That's why I haven't updated my Blog with a post about the findings.  Also, I've been extremely busy the past 2 weeks, making lists of things needing to be tended to...getting hubby to do his share and me doing mine.  Things are progressing.  Sorry I haven't been visiting and commenting much recently.  I do look, but can't think of anything to say...I'm just at a loss for words.

Tom's daughter has come over several times (sometimes with a couple of other people) to shovel our 650 square foot courtyard (for our Pups), our sidewalk and the drive-way, since hubby can't do it all himself...and I can't shovel at all.

This is our Sweetie Girl, Angel.  She is a Coton de Tulear and will be 2 in July.  She had just come in from outdoors...running around our courtyard with Jasper and Rosie...and continued running around in the house.  She jumped up in the bed in the office and I quickly snapped a picture!  How cute!!

I hope you're enjoying the Devotions I've been posting lately.  It seems nearly every one of them that I get in an email, speaks to me and my situation...and I know I must share them!  And besides, there isn't much to post about.

Oh This Looks So Cozy...

I love Animal Print - Especially Cheetah and Leopard...and this would look so great in my house.  I can just see it draped across my new Sleigh Bed.  (You can see that bed in this post Here)  Believe it or not, I'm still working on finishing all of my projects every room has a project or 2 going on!  I can see me snuggled up with my Pups, a cup of Tea, a good book and watching the snow fall outside the window, !!  The matching Cheetah Pillows come in 18" and 26".  I'd love to use the 26" Euro Pillow size on my Bed with my standard/queen
Pillow Shams.  I know they'd look great!  But, the Sale Prices really aren't in my budget right now...check out the information below.  For 2 Euro Pillow Covers and the Throw, it would be well over $200.  I will have to shop around...or even make my own.  But this is my jump-off point!

Cold & Snow

Dangerous Winter Blast Plunging into Central and Eastern U.S. this Weekend
Be Prepared, Be Careful ~ Stay Warm & Safe.  Besides heavy snow {Ion Dropped 12" here}, very cold wind chills are forecast.  This has been the Snowiest and Coldest Winter as long as I've lived in Michigan - almost 9 years.  Many areas have seen record cold and snow too.  Here is what our Courtyard
and Surrounding Area looks, since the snow that fell on Wednesday (9").  The dogs are thoroughly enjoying it!

This is a neighbor out sweeping his porch - he's 91

This Snow Wave is about 5' Tall - behind our Neighbor's House

Here are the Pups, out in the snow!  Rosie & Angel love getting in the deeper snow and then plopping their faces in it (see Rosie) and then they take off running!!  Funny little Pups.

Great Start to 2014...

It's Snowing...and we're expecting up to 8" once it's all done tomorrow!  Our Pups Love the Snow!  They can't wait to go outside...and to play in it and run around our courtyard...and up and down our porch steps.  The snow makes them deliriously happy.  Happy New Year to all!  Check out the photo here and let me know if you notice anything different...by leaving a comment. {wink}

Blowing and Drifting Snow

After Four Days of Falling Snow...We have all of this...and as you look at these pictures, you can actually see it piling up!  The little black fence you can see in front of the plants in the earlier pictures, no longer shows in the last few, after the snowfall yesterday.  The scenery will all be changing,  as warmer temperatures and rain are predicted for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  {click any of the pictures to see them larger}  Just when you get a good...
snow, the temperature always rises and it always rains...and washes all the pretty snow away.  I've always hated that.  {Don't tell anyone, but I do like snow - just don't like driving in it!}

I had hubby shovel a path around the perimeter of our Courtyard so that our 2 Pups would have a
track to run around on and they are thoroughly enjoying it.  Rosie, our Toy Poodle runs around and then jumps into the middle of the foot of snow at the center of the track.  She loves snow!

Jasper loves running around with Rosie, but hasn't yet jumped in the middle of the snow.

The courtyard is about 1500 square feet of space, including our porch that has 2 sets of steps, one down each side of the porch.  The Pups include the Steps and Porch in their running around the courtyard.

I designed the Courtyard and Hubby built it...in 2009...it was actually started in early spring, before we got our dogs.  Jasper came to live with us in May, 2009; Benny in June 2009 and Rosie in May 2010.   The Courtyard was completed in July 2009.

We're so glad we have a secure place for the Pups to run and play.

All of the pictures were taken from inside the house, from both my Office Window and the Dining Room Windows.

Hope you're staying warm and having a Blessed Week!
