Guests

Since I have been doing a complete re-decorating job in our house, I thought I'd share some photos of the rooms that I originally decorated 7 years ago, when we moved into our "Nest".  We'll be starting with the Guest Room.  We have 3 bedrooms in our new house...the Master Bedroom, and two others.  One became our Home Office.  The other one became our Guest Room.  Since...
I'm originally from Wisconsin, we anticipated friends and family would travel to see us, as we have traveled to Wisconsin to see them these past 7 years.

So, we set out to make this a cozy and comfortable place for our Guests.  There is an attached Bathroom...which allows our Guests complete privacy...and even has a coffeemaker and coffee so they can make their own anytime they want.

First thing we did was purchase a Simmon's BeautyRest Mattress...the kind of mattress that has the individually pocketed coils that helps to reduce motion between bed partners...giving them a peaceful night's sleep and is so comfortable.  Then we purchased the bedroom furniture, which is predominantly black.  Walking in through the door, you see a desk on your left, with a small lamp and picture above it - the door is the closet, with a nice large mirror on the wall.  To the right, is the bed.  On the right side of the bed is a large nightstand with clock/radio and a lamp.  A pretty oil painting hangs above the nightstand.

Around on the wall from the nightstand is a window, with a very pretty view into the lot next door and beyond.  Diagonally, in the corner is the Armoire, with a TV in the top and everything Guests could possibly need for their overnight stay.  That door leads to the bathroom.  Another oil painting hangs there.  And then we're back to the bedroom door.

Looking from in front of the window back across the room...

This room started out all white, with nothing in it.  Here, it is still white, but it's filled with warm colors and comfortable furnishings.  Next time you see this room...the walls will be painted.

Thanks for coming along on this little tour of our Guest Room.

  3. I love black! :) Will be anxious to see what color you paint the walls. I would agree that you have anything and everything available for guests. Do they want to leave? :)
