Gail Claridge Designs

Gail Claridge, Designer
Interior designer Gail Claridge was born with a passion for design. Always interested in collectables and antiques, she has used her imagination, attention to detail, and design abilities to turn her personal residences into jewel boxes. Gail’s uniquely designed homes have drawn great national attention, launching her career in interior design and consulting.  Gail’s first retail shop was located in Northridge, California, not far from her Country French home at the edge of Monteria Lake. Her home was the site of many charitable functions and television shows, and over the years her business became very successful. In 1994, a devastating earthquake in Northridge completely destroyed both her home and design firm.  Gail began again in Westlake Village, California.
She found a new site for her retail shop and design studio in Gelson’s Plaza. As a member of the American Institute of Architects and having earned a contractor’s license in 1982,   She is joined on many projects by her son, Joe Claridge, who is a licensed contractor and builder.

Gail’s new home is an incredible ranch in Somis, California. This lovely site surrounded by trees and rolling hills has been featured in California Homes magazine.

Gail’s projects can be seen throughout the country, including magnificent California estates in Malibu, Bel Air, Lake Arrowhead and Hidden Valley. One of her favorite projects was the complete renovation of the John Huston Estate. The addition of a working waterwheel enhanced the country charm of this unique property.

Gail’s consulting and design approach for these fine homes and estates developed after careful research into period architecture and building techniques, such as Country French, Country English, Americana, Tuscan and Mediterranean. Each project incorporates her unique use of stone, attention to authentic architectural detail and use of exquisite antiques and furnishings.

  3. Amazing home. Is that a media room with the pair of chaises? It looks so comfy with the pair of chaises instead of theater type seating.
