Benny Passed Away Tonite

Our Middle PuppyKid, Benny...Ever tender, Ever Caring...Running to see what I needed...and To see what Treat you could wrangle out of me!!  Always Playful, Always ready to Snuggle...That was you.   You made my days brighter...and helped me through those 18 months with Bell's Palsy.  You were here for Mommy when I needed you most!   I will miss you more than you'll ever know.

Love, Hugs & Kisses,
Mommy - and Daddy, Jasper & Rosie, too

This Is So Scarey & Painful to Watch

Our Benny
This is such a difficult thing to do...whether a fur baby or not.  Our Benny has gone downhill all afternoon!  His muscles tense up at the slightest movement, He's dizzy - from the pain pills & anti-inflammatories...or the Pain he's feeling or from whatever is taking place and yet, he can't have another pain pill for about 5 hours.  I can't wait til tomorrow to see our Vet.  There is an Emergency Vet Hospital close by that I am going to call.  It hurts my ♥ and makes me sick to see him this way.  During my 18 months with Bell's Palsy, he has taken care of me...kissing the areas that were sore and comforting me by snuggling with me.  He's our comforter...our Guard Dog and the most caring little guy.  I just want to do the same for him, making everything comfortable, take the pain away and allow him to rest.  Pray that he has a restful night.

Benny & I Saw the Vet Again Today...

He came up lame this morning...on the same leg as the lipoma.  Since Benny stiffens as the Vet begins to examine him, there's no way to tell for sure what's going on.  We must limit his movement over the weekend and give him pain pills and anti-inflammatory pills until Monday morning, when he is sedated and x-rayed to find out what is going on.  Poor baby.  I wish I could explain to him what's going on and that we're doing everything we can to make him feel better!  Benny's eaten, gone potty, had his pills and is resting in his crate next to my desk.  He's snuggled in his bed on top of his favorite fluffy blanket...resting.  And...he doesn't like it one darn bit!

Benny News Continues

What else?
After seeing the Vet just the other day for the Lump I discovered on Benny's right rear leg and finding out it is a lipoma from where he bumped it nearly 2 weeks ago now - he gets out of bed this morning limping with that leg held almost totally off the ground.   Please say another prayer for him {and all of us} as I will be calling the Vet's office this morning, in another hour.

Benny's Lump Update...

Benny shook, squirmed, panted and kept wiggling right out of his harness {like he normally does} the entire time we were at the Vet's Office...and the Vet, Dr. Todd is the Best!  If we have to see a Vet with any of the Pups, I'm certainly thankful for Dr. Todd.  He is the kindest and nicest person - genuinely caring about the Pups and us as well.  He always has a smile.   Thankyou Dr. Todd!!
***Sadly, Benny passed away on December 7, 2013***...

The first thing he did with Benny was a mini exam...checking his vitals and everything.  Then, he felt the lump and after a minute or so, told us it was under the skin.  He also mentioned that those kinds of lumps tend NOT to be cancerous.

Dr. Todd Smith
Then, he whisked Benny away to aspirate the lump...to see what kind of cells there were.  The Vet Tech returned Benny to us in the exam room.  All kinds of things go through your mind while you're awaiting the results of tests on a lump - and with a Pup, it's no different than if it were me.

Dr Todd returned to the exam room and told us what he found.  First thing..."Good News!"  Yeah, good news!!  He told us Benny's lump is a Lipoma - a fatty growth.  However, there were some unusual cells in his.  There were inflammatory cells.  He said Benny may have bumped himself in that area and this fatty growth began growing.  He also said that right now, nothing needs to be done to it, except to keep an eye on it.  He explained how these Limpomas can sometimes grow and in a dog Benny's size it could grow to tennis ball size.  Sometime then, surgery could be indicated.  But not now!!

On the drive home, I remembered Benny jumping off my recliner one night and bumping that right hip into a sharp cornered table.  He made nothing of it, so neither did I.  When we got home, I called the Vet's Office and asked if a bump just a week-10 days ago, could have resulted in this Lipoma.  Answer:  Yes.  (They grow rather quickly, I guess.)  That would explain why I didn't notice the lump sooner than just a couple days ago - it wasn't there!!

So...it's great to know that Benny will be fine - with a watchful eye kept on the Lipoma.

Thank you all for the prayers!  I could feel them while we were at the Vet's Office.  I wasn't nervous at all.  I was actually quite calm...even before the "Good News" from the Vet.

Benny & a Request for Prayer

Lastnight, while I was giving Benny a belly rub...I noticed a lump in front of his right hip.  We called the Vet and can't get in until Wednesday morning.  I cancelled my Wednesday massage, because I couldn't be relaxed thinking about Benny.  If you would...say a prayer for our Benny and me.  I'm beside myself over this.  I love my Pups so much...I can't bear the thought of anything happening to them.

Christmas Past

I thought I'd share a few PINK glimpses of Christmas Decorations around our house from several years ago.  I haven't begun decorating for this year yet.  And there probably won't be much decorating done around here either.  It's just hubby, me and the 3 Pups, so there will be a pretty table-top Tree in the Den...and perhaps a few other pretty things set up in my Cabinet in my Office.

My Pretty PINK Christmas Tree.  Actually, it was a white tree, stuffed full of 6" wide Pink Tulle, Gold Branches and white lights.  It was decorated with Pink... Green, Gold and glitzy ornaments.  It looked FABULOUS!  It's also a skinny tree, which made it fit just perfectly next to the entertainment center.  It was a perfect fit...and right outside our Bedroom door, too.
My bit of Vintage!

A Glimpse of the Master Bedroom

Oh yes, there was a Pewter Ornament and some Bronze ones too!

And it seems I was getting ready for our Christmas Eve Dinner of:

Shrimp Appetizers
Black Angus Prime Rib Roast
New Green Bean Casserole
Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Boston Cream Crepe Dessert

We Wish You a Very...

Pop Ups

Suddenly have Pop-Ups? No, I'm not really talking about pop-up thermometers, or pretty cards!

I'm talking about Pop-Up Ads...Are they showing up everywhere?   Even on your Blog?   Do you have Ads on your blog that you haven't wanted or OK'd?   Links in weird colors that are double underscored on your blog too?

I did...and it was EZ-Peasy to get rid of them...

I use Google Chrome and there is a button in the top right corner of your screen with 3 horizontal bars...click on it and go to Settings, then click Extensions on the top left.  Then all you need to do is DELETE the items you don't want.

I had 3 that weren't there yesterday...and they were all ads!

I had visited a Blog this morning where I noticed all the oddly colored and underscored Links...and shortly after, I was getting pop-ups like mad!!

Now they're gone and I'm so happy!  I thought I'd share this with you, it's the easiest thing to get rid of something that can be so maddening.

New Appliance Love

Which Do You Prefer?  Regular Coffee, Espresso, Mocha, Latte or Cappuccino?

I refuse to buy any specialty coffee Beverage from the Over-Priced Coffee Shops!  I hate spending a huge amount of money on a Coffee.  I researched and read tons of  Reviews on several different machines.  I didn't want anything too big - too complicated or for too much money {an on-going theme here}.   The machine I decided on was the TASSIMO!  Tassimo knows a cappuccino...
is no latte -Discover why Tassimo’s intelligent barcode technology is the smarter way to brew.

{Click on Either Photo for More Information from Tassimo about this Great Brewer}

Hubby enjoys his individual cup of coffee - and we bought an inexpensive coffee maker that makes 12 cups for when we need a potful of coffee.

And I enjoy my Specialty Drink - A Mocha - A Latte or a Cappuccino.   All you have to do is set it up, plug it in, push a few buttons and Voila - you're all set to enjoy a tasty treat.

Honestly, the beverages come out Hotter with this machine, than any others I tested and read about {170°-175°} and better tasting than from the BIG CoffeeShops and even better than our neighborhood coffee shop and they're alot less expensive too.

At first, I was going to order on-line, direct from Tassimo, with their Special.  But, I found I could purchase the Tassimo Machine, the T-Discs I wanted and the Carousel for them right here in town at Bed Bath & Beyond for the same price.  Then I could go to Tassimo.com and Register my Machine and get 2 Packages of T-discs of my choice for Free - no shipping charges either.  So, that's what I did.  Worked out that it was a tad cheaper getting it in town than on the Tassimo site.

If you can't tell that I love this new Appliance in my Kitchen, let me tell you this:

I Love My New
Tassimo Brewer T-55
and
T-Discs:
*Hazelnut Coffee
*Caramel Macchiato Latte
*Mocha

*I have not been paid nor received anything from Tassimo or Bed Bath and Beyond for this post*
